Chad Hamilton

Operations Manager

Chad grew up in small town Ontario where at a young age learned to ski and snowboard on the "bumps" they call mountains. After discovering BC had real mountains he headed west and went to film school in Vancouver. When he finished he set his sights on Whistler where he spent the last 7 years working in the adventure tourism industry and honing his skills.  Working with Snowcats and riding big mountains are two of his favorite things! When not doing those things, he can be found making music and exploring his surroundings with his better half Susan and their dog Melody.

Nathan was born and raised in Terrace. He left Terrace after graduation to pursue a career in cooking before finding himself in Smithers, BC where his snowcat experience began. Initially, he worked on the ski hill as a lift operator, but managed to work his way into driving and fixing the Snowcats. He has worked as a fulltime operator for more than 10 years including the opportunity to build a training course for the 2010 Russian Olympic Skier Cross team. He is grateful to get his first opportunity working in his home mountains. In his off time he loves snowboarding and mountain biking. He is looking forward to this coming season and the adventures it will bring.

Amy Ross

Ski Shop/Tail Guide

Amy grew up on a 5-acre hobby farm on the edge of the Lillooet River in Pemberton BC. With two ski bum parents, the mountains and forests as her playgrounds, she developed a love for the great outdoors early on. Amy has two great passions in life: the outdoors and digital art. She has developed both of these through post-secondary education. First, studying Adventure Guiding at Thompson Rivers University and then Publishing at Langara College. Before, during and after her studies, Amy worked for The Adventure Group in Whistler doing just about every position they offered; guiding multiple activities, shuttle driving, and even working in the Café. When not working or off skiing and exploring, Amy likes to design ski graphics for friends and family. In every interaction Amy strives to share her love for the outdoors with others.

Steve Scherling

Cat Land Crew

Steve, aka moustache, has a true love for the outdoors. Along with a handful of now fulltime BC residents, Steve’s story starts out in small town Ontario. There weren’t very many ski hills out there, so jumps and jibs built in and around town had to suffice.  That quickly became tiresome and a move to the real mountains became necessary. Once the move was complete a job at the ski hill was the next step. His first job was a ticket checker, followed quickly by lift operator, terrain park builder/ designer and also ski patrol coordinator. Now after over a decade in the industry working almost every job at the ski hill, he has found his home in Terrace, BC, and working for Northern Escape. During the summer months, Steve is a full time professional fly fishing guide, focusing most of his attention to the beautiful Steelhead of the north. If not in the mountains touring on his splitboard, you will find him with a Spey rod in hand, chasing chrome.
